Terms of service

The rules for using Pythonaut. Short, and meant to be fair.

Who you are dealing with

Pythonaut is operated by Coralia Digital, a sole trader in the United Kingdom. Contact: coraliadigital@icloud.com.

Your account

You need a working email address and you must be 13 or over. Keep access to your inbox secure, because anyone who can read your email can sign in as you. One account per person.

What you get

The Launchpad track, the playground, the free arcade challenges and the free projects are free and will stay free. Pro unlocks the Orbit and Deep Space tracks, all projects, the whole arcade, the full quiz bank and the career tools.

We add things over time and occasionally change or retire them. If we ever remove something substantial that you paid for, we will tell you and sort you out fairly.

Prices and payment

Pro is £7 a month, £49 a year, or £129 once for lifetime access. Prices include VAT where it applies. Subscriptions start with a seven day free trial and renew automatically until cancelled. Payment is taken by Stripe.

If we change the price of a subscription you already hold, we will tell you at least 30 days beforehand and you can cancel before it takes effect.

Cancelling and refunds

Cancel any time from your account page. Cancelling stops the next payment and you keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not automatically refund part-used periods.

Your legal right to cancel. As a UK or EU consumer buying online you normally have 14 days to change your mind. Because Pythonaut gives you immediate access to digital content, starting to use Pro means you agree to us supplying it straight away and you acknowledge losing that 14 day right. That is your choice to make: if you would rather keep the right, do not use Pro until the 14 days are up.

Beyond that, if Pythonaut is not what you expected, email within 30 days of paying and we will refund you. No form, no interrogation. Lifetime purchases are covered by the same 30 days.

None of this affects your statutory rights, including the right to a remedy if what we sold you is faulty or not as described.

What you may and may not do

Use Pythonaut to learn. Put the projects you build in your portfolio, show them to employers, put them on GitHub. They are your work.

Please do not share your account, republish our lessons or solutions as your own, scrape the site wholesale, or try to break it. The code you write is yours; the course material, the challenges and the site are ours.

Running Python in your browser

Code you write runs inside your own browser, sandboxed. It does not reach our servers. That also means anything you type is your responsibility, and we cannot recover work you lose by clearing your browser data.

Availability

We aim to keep the site up but do not promise uninterrupted service. This is a small independent product, not a bank.

Liability

We are responsible for loss we cause by breaking this agreement or failing to use reasonable care, where that loss is a foreseeable result. We are not liable for business losses. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us exclude. Where we are liable, our liability is limited to what you have paid us in the previous twelve months.

Learning Python does not guarantee you a job, and nothing on the careers pages is a promise about salary or employment.

Ending it

You can delete your account whenever you like. We can suspend an account that is being used to abuse the service or other people, and we will explain why.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts there have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the protection of your local consumer law.
